We returned from an incredible time of ministry and evangelism in Lima, Peru filled with more of the wonder of our heavenly Father. We ministered with the team of youth and adult leaders that travel with Steve Fatow's, Misiones Internacionales, Master Builders and Missions Without Borders. This team goes once a year to experience foreign missions in a practical way. It is estimated that approximately 7000 to 10,000 prayed the prayer of salvation during this trip over a span of nine days. | | No comments for this item |

Every week we send updates of ministry experiences, trip recaps, revelations, tribulations and consolations. We want to use this Insights to share a little bit of the lighter side of observing and learning culture and social practices. We all know a joyful heart is good medicine (Pr 17:22). Christine is missing children right now, so we are going to share some fun to lighten up things. We hope you have as much fun reading about these experiences as we have had learning about them. | | This item includes 2 comments |

We call it an English Conversation class. There are six young people ages, 16 to 29, who gather in our apartment to practice English. They are eager to learn. The group consists of college students, a high school student, career builders, and searchers. Their enthusiasm to learn is encouraging and contagious. This week the group will grow by one or two more people. While teaching these young people, we are learning more Spanish, as well. This group has a two-fold purpose, to teach English so we have more translators and to train in evangelism. This week we will begin evangelism training using the Way of the Master.

SOMETIMES THE DEVIL HAS TO WAIT |

It was another hot, rainy, muggy night in the jungle. The little church was packed with the descendents of African slaves and local indigenous people. Kevin had just finished preaching on the power of God and given an alter call. Almost everyone gathered responded by quickly coming forward. We were ministering as a team among the crowd and God was moving mightily in the lives of the people. Christine was near the back of the crowd a few yards from Kevin when a young girl fell at her feet and began convulsing, screaming and writhing like a snake on the floor. Kevin made his way through the crowd and lay hold of the demon possessed girl. Speaking with authority to the demons he told them to "be quiet, be still, I’ll get back to you later." Immediately the girl’s body went limp and she was silent. Kevin and Christine left her there face down on the floor and went back to ministering to the others. | | No comments for this item |

As we sat together looking across the water that lay in front of us, it looked as if someone had taken great care in the manicure of this aquatic habitation of an underwater world. It was refreshing to feel the cool breeze coming off the surface of the water. As we reflected over the last few days, we felt the indescribable peace that only comes from knowing our Savior and Creator. We were wrapping up a day of very enjoyable fellowship and relaxation that we will talk more about in a few moments. For now, we will attempt to describe the times of blessing that come with sweat, toil, and determination. | | No comments for this item |
